Lcba Football Tournament 2019: The Journalism Lions Of Asmac Shut The Mouths Of The Sharks Of Info. Doc.
The Lions of the microphone revealed their football talents Friday, 5th April, 2019 by giving their counterparts of Information and Documentation a four nill spanking.
The Journalism Lions of ASMAC in the Advanced School of Mass Communication in Yaounde – Cameroon, gave a four- nill spanking to the Sharks of Info. Doc at the Mateco Football Stadium in the University of Yaounde 1 this Friday, 5th April, 2019. The four goals were scored by MBEMBE Marcel (2), Arthur MINYEM and Cyrille EBODE.
It was the opening encounter of the 2019 edition of the Laurent Charles BOYOMO ASSALA (LCBA) Football Tournament in one of the most prestigious communication schools in the Central African Sub Region. Coming into the game, the Boys of Head Coach, GONG Anatole Arold had promised their supporters a triumphant entry into this year’s tournament. More than two hundred fans and supporters of the Information and Documentation Department of the school answered present to push them to victory. The stadium was buoyant as the fans of both teams danced and sang various rhythms so much so that, many ordinary spectators were confused on what to watch; their performance in the stands or the twenty two football artists on the field of play.
When the central referee, Noumé FOTSO sounded his whistle for the game to commence, the Information and Documentation team created a scare and nearly opened scores at the second minute of play. Unfortunately for them, Frank MBOUTYANDI squandered the opportunity. Ten minutes into the first half, MBEMBE Marcel benefited from a brilliant pass from Arthur MINYEM to raise the curtains for the Journalism team.
As NGA BARNABE, Frank MBOUTYANDI, MAKONG Frank and Team Captain for Information and Documentation, MAHOP Albert tried upfront to find the equalizer, Arthur MINYEM stole the show by scoring the second goal for the Journalism Lions. Just before half time, MBEMBE Marcel scored the third goal and sent the Journalism fans into ecstasy.
When the second half resumed, the Information and Documentation Boys came back with more determination to turn the tides around. They mounted pressure and created several goal scoring opportunities but were frustrated by a 'Berlin Wall' built and manned by Hardiel NYANGONO, BOL Djibril and ZAMBO Materne. They helped goalkeeper, NGA Junior to keep a clean sheet.
Upfront, it was Cyrille EBODE who killed the match by scoring the fourth goal from a tight corner. KAMWA Jordan, the Info. Doc. goalkeeper was completely lost in action. His teammates were already confused on the pitch and tempers began to flare. Central defender, BODO Crepin could not control his emotions any longer and got punished. The central referee, Noumé FOTSO sent him off with a red card after a second yellow.
The rest of the encounter had no stakes as the Info. Doc. team knew that the three points were beyond their reach. In the end, it was the Coach of the Journalism Lions of ASMAC, Alain NDANGA that embraced his players, congratulating them for a job well done. His counterpart, GONG Anatole Arold could only look forward to the next game, hoping to right the wrongs of this encounter.
The Laurent Charles BOYOMO ASSALA (LCBA) Football Tournament is a yearly tradition in the Advanced School of Mass Communication, ASMAC. This year’s opening ceremony was presided over by the ASMAC Secretary General, Madame TIENCHEU Lizette and new ASEC President, Janvier MBALLA EFFA.
