Agbor Balla Suspended From Ub As Lecturer
Renowned human rights activist and lawyer, Nkongho Felix Agbor Balla, has been suspended by the University of Buea where he hitherto lectured Law.
His suspension from the institution was ordered by the Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Jacques Fame Ndongo, on grounds that his actions threaten the ethics and deontology of the university.
Information from news outlets quote Barrister Nkongho Felix Agbor as saying that his suspension from the University is connected to an examination question he set during the first semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, and for his incessant condemnation of human rights abuses by the government.
The examination question at the centre of the row read thus 'The Anglophone Crisis since 2016 was caused by lawyers' and teachers' strike. Assess the validity of this statement.'
The Barrister added that he has not yet been notified of his suspension by the University of Buea and that it is only after such notification that he will decide on what to do.
