President Biya Cancels Public Celebrations Of Labour Day & National Day
As a result of the the Coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 edition Labour Day, as well as the 48th edition of National Day that come up on May 1 and 20 respectively, shall not be celebrated publicly.
The decision to cancel both celebrations is that of the President of the Republic, Paul Biya.
The information made public this evening by the Minister of State, Secretary General of the Presidency, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh, falls in line with the need to respect social distancing as one of the measures to prescribed to combat the deadly disease.
Meanwhile President Paul Biya had earlier made public the theme of this years edition of National Day which is"United against the Covid-19 pandemic, to resolutely steer Cameroon on the path of resilience, peace, stability and economic development".
