North Region Records First Coronavirus Case
Just when Cameroonians were beginning to feel relieved that the Coronavirus pandemic is being contained through the government measures, new cases of the infection have now been cropping up in different regions of the country.
The information about the first case in the North Region was made public on Saturday, April 18 by the Governor of the region, Jean Abate Edi'i. The victim in question, one Ibrahima Abba, is said to be the State Prosecutor in Guider.
Information about how he contracted the virus has not been made public, but he is being followed up by the rapid response team of the region.
At the moment, Cameroon has a little over 1000 confirmed cases of the virus and 42 deaths while 305 people have fully recovered from the infection
