Boyo Mayors Reach Out To Idps In Yaounde
Mayors of the four Subdivisions that make up Boyo Division in the North-West have distributed relief materials and other necessities to persons displaced by the ongoing crisis in the Anglophone regions of the country.
Acting under the banner of the United Councils and Cities of Cameroon, the mayors of Fundong, Bum, Belo and Njinikom decided to pull their resources together in order to alleviate the precarious conditions in which their kith and kin have been leaving ever since the took up temporal residence in Yaounde.
Speaking at the ceremony which brought together more than 1000 IDPs at the KOMCUDA hall in Yaounde, the president of the Boyo Divisional Bureau of the UCCC, Denis Awoh Ndang, called on the persons who turned out for the event to convince those still in the bushes to heed the call of the Head of State and drop their arms so that calm should return in the various municipalities of Boyo.
Flanked by mayor Gwe Philip of Funfuka and Tifuh Emmanuel of Belo, Denis Awoh Ndang told the IDPs that it was just the first in a series of relief material that shall be distributed to IDPs from Boyo scattered in major towns across the national territory.
